E’ stato il batterista dei Rush per 45 anni. Con la band rock progressive canadese ha rggiunto il successo e si è fatto conoscere in tutto il mondo. Oltre ad essere il batterista era anche autore della maggior parte dei testi. E’ morto nel 2020 a causa di un tumore al cervello contro cui lottava da alcuni anni.
